500 more silver-bronze additions... lots of variety!

Aug. 17,  2010

They're baa-ack!  We've separated out our discount "oldies" (and added or reduced hundreds of more issues), so that we now have nearly 3,000 golden, silver and bronze-age comics marked down to only $3 to $5 each!  And this includes over 600 issues from the 1940s and 1950s!  And we'll be adding more all of the time as we dig deep into our warehouses and begin clearing some inventory.  So check out our Collectibles Room in our Main Store, where we also have everyday bargains (usually 20% or more) on thousands of other collectible comics, books, pulps, magazines, and posters, from the early 1900s through the 1970s!

... a new assortment (200+) of silver and bronze-age comics.... highlights include Amazing Spider-Man #20 (4.0), #29 (6.5), plus high-grade bronze Spidey issues, a run of Flaming Carrot comics, a group of last-printing Classics Illustrated, assorted '60s & '70s X-Men, and lots of other titles, including a number of high-grade bronze-era items.

We just picked up a massive collection... over 1,500 paperbacks, mostly science-fiction and fantasy, that we are now processing.  Over the next couple of weeks there should be new volumes added to the Discount Warehouse almost daily.

July 23, 2010

Just in -- another grouping of lower and mid-grade #1s and key issues including:

Challengers of the Unknown #1 (2.5), Mystery In Space #53 (5.0), Metal Men #1 (4.0), Hawkman #1 (5.0), Justice League of America #1 (1.5), Green Lantern #4 (7.0), Showcase #38 (5.0), Brave and the Bold #36 (6.0), Flash #113 (6.0), Captain America #100 (4.0), + golden-age issues of Plastic Man #4 (6.0) and Superman #11 (3.0), among others.

Also... for those of you who love fiction... we've added about 1,000 new books in the past week or two (including over 100 high-quality sf-fantasy paperbacks just today) over in our Discount Warehouse (check out our new sign on the building!).

July, 2010

We haven't had a chance to post every time we add new collectibles, as we've had a flurry of collections coming through in recent weeks.  We are also putting out merchandise we think might be of interest to travelers coming through for Columbus' Pulp-Fest (July 29- Aug.1), and have added (or are adding) new groupings of collectible paperbacks from the 1940s-1960s, an assortment of pulps, miscellaneous older comics, and other items.

Rather than waiting until we have a large group all at once, we will be adding items (almost daily) as we process them from recent collections acquired, including a new purchase of 6,000 comics 1980s to modern, with some going to our main store's modern back-issue collection (now at 36,000 issues) or across the street at our Discount Warehouse (30,000 issues for only $1 ea.).

We have had some collections of used paperbacks added to the Warehouse, as well as bargain-priced selections of graphic novels and assorted hardbacks.  Another collection of early items (going back to 1890s - 1940s) including early comics tie-in merchandise, big-little books, some pulps, etc., will be added as we get to them, as well as assorted collectible comics from the golden through bronze ages.

    (A few highlights as of 7/17 include: Amazing Spider-Man #14 (1st Green Goblin; 4.0), Action Comics #71 (6.0) , Incredible Hulk #102 (6.0), Incredible Hulk #s 180 & 182 (3.0), Adventures of the Fly #1 (2.0), and many others.

Added -- several dozen mixed, mostly lower and mid-grade, golden-age and early silver-age books.  This lot includes a few early Fawcett heroes, early Archie issues, '50s & '60s DCs, some Atlas horror issues, and others.

    (1)  Just in -- about 400 high-grade late-bronze issues (mid-'70s to mid-'80s)... mostly better issues    (most regular issues from this era will be found in our Discount Warehouse).  Lots of 8.0 grades and above.

   (2)  We've just put in an additional row of bookshelves at the Discount Warehouse, and through the next few days will be adding hundreds of books (hardback and paperback) that there wasn't room to put out previously.

We just acquired a major new collection... lots of top key issues and other high-grade silver and bronze.  Several items have already sold even before we could list them, so this is a serious in-demand grouping.  Some of the top items can be viewed on our "Collectibles Highlights" page.
